She was born in Holmesville, New South Wales, Australia.

Jennifer Hawkins has won many titles, the major ones being Miss Australia 2004 and Miss Universe 2004.

When Jennifer Hawkins was selected for Miss Universe 2004 to represent Australia, she met Ashlea Talbot who was previous titleholder to learn basic Spanish before going to Ecuador.
Miss Universe paegent was held at Ecuador on 1st June 2004.
Jennifer Hawkins won the Miss Universe 2004 title, and remaining were from America and Carribean, who were Shandi Finnessey (1st runner-up USA), Alba Reyes (2nd runner up Puerto Rico),
Yanina Gonzalez (3rd runner up Paraguay) and Danielle Jones from Trindad who was 4th runner up.

Jennifer Hawkins was the first winner since 1983 who were from oceania and first Australian since 1972.

Short time after being crowned Miss Universe in 2004, Jennifer Hawkins created news during a fashion show at Westfield Miranda, shopping center in Australia, she suddenly tripped on hem of her dress, and because of that it fell on the floor.
Jennifer Hawkins was left open in her red thond in front of whole crowd. Jennifer Hawkins apologized later on, stating that she wished she had wore better underwear. That incident recieved the most debatable distinction and was also known as the most embarrasing moment ever shown on Australian Television.
Because of that wardrobe malfunction this issue was widely spread amongst news channels and according to search engine google, there was a sudden increase in internet search for Jennifer Hawkins.

Jennifer Hawkins was a Judge for Miss Universe 2008 finals which was held in Vietnam.

Jennifer Hawkins is currently working as a host and judge in Australia’s Make me a Supermodel which is telecasted on Seven Network starting from 6 August 2008.
She was signed by Lux in July 2005 as a face of Australia and New Zealand.
